African Batik Ochre Christmas Ornaments – Set of 4

Add warmth and character to your holiday tree with this set of handcrafted ochre yellow ornaments from Zimbabwe. Their earthy golden hue, whimsical shapes and distinctive batik patterns bring a collected, artisanal feel to holiday decorating.

The fabric is first woven by hand in a textured “bark weave” before artisans apply a traditional resist made from Sadza, a maize-based paste. Once painted and sun-dried, the dried resist is carefully scraped away to reveal the intricate crackled pattern beneath. The result is a collection of whimsical, soft, tactile equally at home on a Christmas tree, in a nursery or children's room, or gathered on a child's first Christmas tree. 

The set includes four assorted shapes, each approximately 4 inches long. Hang them together for a cohesive look or mix them with your favorite ornaments for a tree that feels collected and personal. Their natural fabric texture and gentle, earthy palette make them an easy addition to spaces designed with a thoughtful, collected aesthetic.
